The following are a list of available volunteer opportunities
NIA FOOD DISTRIBUTION
Join us at Port Houston Elementary,
1800 McCarty, on Saturday, September 19th from 8 a.m –1 p.m.
for a Food Distribution serving the Port Houston families.
Some of the volunteer opportunities may include: loading and lifting, sorting and sacking, inventory, registration, lane attendants, delivering bags to vehicles, and traffic controllers.

Neighbors in Action will be serving
The Port Houston Community
providing a Learning Center at NIA three days a week,
MWF from 8 AM-1 PM.
The center will be setup outside of the community center. You may serve one day a week or more, but it must be from 8 AM-1 PM on the one day.

DISTANCE LEARNING AT QUILLIAN CENTER
Quillan Center is seeking volunteers to assist children enrolled in Quillian's Distance Learning Program.
Quillian Center will be providing distance learning accommodations for children 5 to 14 starting
September 8th - October 16th
Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3:00 pm
Volunteers have the option to volunteer in different shifts week to week (there will be morning and afternoon shifts available). The morning shift will be from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and then the afternoon shift will be from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We do ask prior to taking on this commitment, volunteers should review their schedule to ensure they can volunteer on a consistent basis as we help children navigate through distance learning.
AISD "AT HOME" LEARNING
We are partnering with Mission Bend United Methodist Church as they host Alief ISD LINC Virtual Learning Center.
We are seeking “Holy Helpers” to monitor/supervise selected students from various grade levels (elementary to high school). The AISD "At Home" Learning program begins
Monday, September 14th
Volunteer opportunities are in 3 different shifts (7:30-10:00, 10:00-12:30, 12:30-2:30) either Monday-Wednesday-Friday or Tuesday-Thursday. Select the project with the days of the week and time slot that works best for you.
BLESS A TEACHER
Times are tough right now, and it's going to be challenging school year. In order to support our teachers, we would like to "Bless A Teacher" at,
Sneed Elementary and Westchase Classical Academy
by becoming a champion.

HURRICANE LAURA RESPONSE
First Methodist Houston Missions partners with Texas Congregational Disaster Readiness and HOPE Disaster Recovery respond to disasters. In the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, we are purchasing and sending supplies to communities in Louisiana. When you support Missions, you are supporting these efforts.
