SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

Paula Niz | Missions Coordinator | pniz@fmhouston.com

God changes our lives when we follow Him and partner with Him in His work.

We not only take Him but we find Him when we step out and serve others.

“For we are God’s co-workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.”

1 Corinthians 3:9

Below are some of the current serving opportunities, both local and/or global.

LOCAL SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

The following are a list of available volunteer opportunities

Neighbors in Action

Prayer Volunteers

Pray for the children and families of Port Houston. Pray that God would be present, and pray that the people of Port Houston would be strengthened, encouraged and comforted by His presence.

To volunteer, or for more information, visit our contact page.

Lifeline

to the Homeless

Beginning in June 2020, Lifeline to the Homeless will be collecting new sock and underwear, gently-used t-shirts for men and women (sizes L – 2XL). You may purchase online and have items shipped to the West Campus, Monday – Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The address is First Methodist Houston 10570 Westpark Drive Houston, TX, 77042.  You may also bring them to worship at either campus, when we open for in person worship services.

Refugee Ministry

Volunteer to serve in our Refugee Ministry

There are several ways to be involved with refugees through First Methodist. One is to pray for our refugee families, and the global refugee crisis. In addition, we can use our voices to advocate for refugees – advocate for our city to absorb more refugees, and advocate for the rights of those living here.

Use your voice to create change by visiting the World Relief site. Or, get involved with our Wednesday night tutoring program, where we love on kids and build relationships through tutoring and educational activities.

Volunteers are needed to serve our students in homework help, tutoring, and to aid our elementary students with literacy skills.

To volunteer, or more information, visit our contact page.

If you are able to help those encountering hardship due to Covid-19, please make your donations to our Missions Ministry.
