2020 has been full of surprises and challenges. As followers of Jesus and people of hope, we also see
challenges as Holy Spirit opportunities. Since the pandemic began, you have been standing in the gap for
our neighbors in need in an even greater way and I am humbled by your generosity.
This Christmas, we have opportunities to serve Jesus by helping others “keep the lights on” as we share
our gifts, so everyone has a special Christmas.
Traditionally, we collect a Christmas Offering to support the mission ministries of our church, provide
Birthday Parties for Jesus, and help people in need at Christmas. This year, our Christmas Offering will
provide Christmas for children and families in need and contribute towards a matching gift for the
renovation of our Lifeline to the Homeless Ministry space at the downtown campus.
Prior to COVID-19, our Lifeline ministry served nearly 340 people living on the streets of Houston each
week, and 16,000 annually out of 48 weeks a year. Lifeline serves the needs of men and women society
discards and is the hands and feet of Jesus to the vulnerable. Renovations have been needed in the
current Lifeline ministry space for over a decade and will greatly improve our ability to assist our clients
with adequate quality services, love, respect, and dignity while addressing future needs of the ministry.
Due to a church member’s generous offer, a $120K gift is available for this renovation with a $50K match

Ministries, please click HERE. Be sure to designate “Christmas Offering” in the memo.
