A First Methodist youth, Mary-Ellen Abshire, responded to the needs of children in our Neighbors in Action ministry and volunteered to host a healthy cooking workshop via Zoom. She raised enough money to provide each child with a Chromebook for the class, to meet the technological needs. Then, Mary Ellen downloaded Zoom to each Chromebook and delivered cooking supplies to each child's house. The families enjoyed the cooking workshop and were blessed by the opportunity to learn healthy recipes. She allowed God to use her to bless others by tapping into her gifts.

Mary-Ellen’s loving response reminds us of the scripture: “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Galatians 5:13
